Four Character Flaws

1. Greed

The desire and/or taking of more than what is fair (just or needed) in a situation. It is tied to excessiveness and attachment beyond what is healthy or good for oneself and to the detriment of others. Greed and destructiveness are inexorably intertwined.

2. Hypocrisy

A hypocrite’s words and actions don’t match. Hypocrisy is the statement of an intention or goal while taking actions that are contrary or inconsistent to that stated goal. When a person’s actions are observed, a better clue is given as to their true intention, but the final arbiter of true intention are the final results of a situation. Results tell the ultimate story as to exactly what a person’s intentions are.

3. Jealousy

Feeling resentment towards others for their perceived rivalry, success, advantages, or achievements. Jealousy is a perverted form of admiration in which the person experiencing jealousy is too lazy to develop the qualities or earn the status or possessions, which they desire. At the root of jealousy is a perceived personal inadequacy or grave doubt about one’s own abilities and/or self-worth.

4. Vanity

Excessive absorption and valuing of oneself. This absorption can be concerned with one’s appearance or achievements, but it always involves the valuing of oneself over others to the point of condescension and to the complete disregard as to the concern for or value of others. A form of vanity is when one gets disappointed, angry, or upset thinking something should happen and it doesn't, because they're coming from a point of ego that makes the situation all about them.
